yeah i totally see what you mean. Those lights are kinda junky, are from a 80something fiat ritmo! They were perfect for the previus incarnation of the car but no matter what they have to go now.
Your round light 'chop really got me thinkun n since fittin the gbody lights will be a HUGE task i might be lookin for a 5" round light w/ a chrome bezel
I wanna do a similar grille slightly frenched on the trunk too, so to fix the trunk to taillight housing gap problem and make the rear view more dramatic.....stay tuned

We're in the process of designing a rear grill for my '65 T-Bird, it will mimic the front.
We'll be removing all of the tailight trim and the center trim. The new grill will set inside the chrome surround.

Talked to a chromer dude last daturday at Mooneyes and he said that he cant chrome my square tubing grille as a whole
Apparently the gaps between the bars are too small for chrome to go through it, so if i want it chromed i'll have to cut it in pieces and then bolt it back togheter.....guess its time to re-think it. bummer.

On a positive note, i found out that chrome aint as expensive as its said to be. 200 for the whole gille, 300 for bumpers, and 30 for the plaque....sounds reasonable to me.

ive always liked concentric tube grilles, a little like larry watsons other version of his 57 caddy or these aussie 60 and 67 holdens....hence my plans for the tbird is along similar lines , this is just a roughy in paint on the computer.... should be pretty easy

From the early '70s, a nice tube grille in a Ford.

Accessory tubular grilles were made for the '54 Chevy too. Actually looks pretty cool and hopefully the popular original Chevy unit found a home in another custom.

I've been building this one for the Cortina. Half inch 304 stainless with a slight curve. Needs a little more work but it's coming along nicely!
