    The Chi-Town Reality Thread

George's SGV reality thread was a great idea.

So here goes the Chicago area version...

Last Saturday I rolled out to the boonies to hit up a little show near Greg's house. Since I didn't know I'd be starting this thread at the time, I didn't take nearly enough photos. But here we go anyways...

I was stoked to see Greg's '66 since he swapped springs and got the front end to lay.

    The show:

    Travis' arrow-straight and bright-red cousin:

We agreed that this super clean ElCamino would be perfect laid out on Supremes:

My '62 wasn't the only car there on Rockets.

This T/A had some monster 15s on the back. Cragars in front.

This kickass '69 Chevelle SS396 was further proof that Up In the Rear is alive and well in Oswego, IL. Believe it or not, the owner of the car was a girl in her early twenties. I asked her what changes she had made to the car and found out she was responsible for the stance, Cragars, and Mickeys.

We did a little chemistry experiment on the Impala:

Before I headed back to the city we hit up a little cruise night at a bank near Greg's house.

More evidence that riding high is the preferred mode of transportation in Oswego:

This dude's '62 SDV was a refreshing alternative

Thats about it. After that we gassed up and I mounted My Little Pony and embarked on my hour and a half drive back to Chicago.

Dropped caddies and jacked up meats... Them's my people.

Greg's Imp looks great. Hope the experiments netted positive results.

You need to marry that girl right away.

Thanks for sharing the Chicago fun. This is a great idea.

The Granada appeared to be an untouched original other than the wheels.

The blue '69 Chevelle was pretty much perfect in my eyes. Wasn't ratty in any way. Super clean engine compartment and black interior with a Hurst shifter and 12" Superior wheel. Looked right out of 1975. Hands down my favorite car at that show. The owner girl was the last person you'd expect to drive that car. Very mild mannered, looked like she could still be in high school.

Looks like a good time no pics of them big meaty tires doin smokey burnouts?
I'm sorry, I don't care how fucking groovy and melodic metal music might get, you do not EVER dance to metal. PERIOD. You might bang your head, swing and sway with the groove, jump up and down and pit with the other long-hair's, but you don't FUCKING DANCE TO IT.

According to Greg, the burnouts happen at a different cruise spot.

I don't think marriage is in the cards. She seemed a little freaked out by me. After I talked with her a bit she asked me if I was with the "lowirders". Then I told her which car was mine and she seemed even more freaked out.
