X4, I am a fan of this car. I love the understated ones just as much as the showpieces. What are your plans?

Thanks for the comments. The car is parked for the winter and the insurance is off of it. The plans as of yesterday are taking all the trim off and the rear bumper as well as the interior. Im hoping the car will be going into my buddys shop within the next month. He will be cutting out all the cancer and putting new sheet metal on the quarters and few other places, since I suck at bodywork. However I will be helping out as much as possible. We will see how the cash flow is this winter, the shop is kinda slow these days, but I hope to have the bodywork sorted out and have the car fully in primer and the roof painted by next summer. I also need to go through the rear end, my spider gears are noisey. I will be posting pictures as the bodywork stage progresses. Stay tuned....

    Yeah...it's a pretty cool car...I guess... haha

Here is a shot I took at a local get together a month or so back, still with steelies.

The fall swap was last weekend and I had to laugh, only guy in the whole damn parking lot capable of scraping as he left and probably one of the only guys there who would be stoked when he did.

Haha yeah that parking lot sucks. I decided to drive it one last time before it went away for the winter. That was a good swap meet tho. I found a few little things for the car. Got to meet up with Bretto and his girl. They are good people and that jetta is slammed.....

So the winter is here and the car is at the shop for body work. My good friend Mike is doing it and I will be helping as much as possible. Heres a few shots from today.

We wont be using all of the patch panel, so the rest will be used for misc. patch work on the inner quarters and the rest of the car.

I also got some spinners for my wheels from ebay. The tires will be getting replaced as well. I will be going to a smaller size (185)
They look kinda dirty in this photo.

205's are BEEEG on a 14, but some how...I don't know. It doesn't look bad on your car. I know and understand the appeal of the small tire being a small tire junkie myself, but man...I think they look good.
It'll be fun to watch what transpires with this car. Me likey.

Not a huge update. The driver quarter is on and by now the bodywork on it is done. (This picture is a week old) Sorry about the bad photos they are off my buddys cell phone. Next thing to do is the pass. side quarter. Expected date for completing the bodywork is late march. Im super stoked to have the whole car in one color and rust free. This will be my first old rust free ride

Thanks all. I wont be running the steelies and caps on this car this upcoming season. I will be running my appliance 5 spokes with spinners and some 185 pinner whites. The steelies will be put away with the rest of my wheel collection and sit until i have extra cash to get them chromed.
